WordPress News Bot (Free)

The biggest burden of running a news site is content: publishing regularly and originally, every single day. For one-person teams or newly launched sites, keeping up that pace is almost impossible. The WordPress news bot is a free plugin we developed to take over exactly that burden.

The bot collects news from official institutional sources, turns it into original text using your own AI key, processes the image and publishes it on your site automatically. It requires no coding knowledge, subscription or monthly fee. Below we explain how it works, why its content counts as original and why we chose official institutions as sources.

How does the WordPress news bot work?

The bot runs in a continuous four-stage cycle:

1. Scanning. The sources you select are scanned every 15 minutes. The full text and image of each news item are found automatically; items that are too short, duplicated, too similar to each other or contain banned words are filtered out before they even enter the pool.
2. Rewriting. The next item in the queue is sent to the AI running on your own API key. The news is written from scratch while keeping the facts from the source.
3. Image processing. The source image is downloaded, cropped, slightly darkened and set as the featured image in WebP format. For items without an image, a branded news card is generated.
4. Publishing. The post is published in the right category, with its tags and an SEO meta description (compatible with Yoast and Rank Math).

You set the publishing pace: daily limit, publishing hours and the waiting time between two posts. The bot spreads posts out at random intervals to create a natural flow, like a human editor.

Fully original content, not copy and paste

The bot never copies the source text as is. The instructions given to the AI include strict rules:

• No fabrication: only facts found in the source (names, numbers, dates) are used; the AI does not add information of its own.
• No verbatim copying: the sentence structure, paragraph order and rhythm of the source are not imitated. The bare facts are taken and the story is built from scratch.
• Google News compatibility: inverted pyramid structure, an original headline that is not clickbait, and entity-focused tags.

The result is not a rephrasing of the source but original text that reads like an independent news story. There is one more quality check: if the text returned by the AI is suspiciously short, it is rejected and retried.

No copyright worries: safe content from official sources

We deliberately built the ready-made source catalog solely from official Turkish government sources: the news pages of the Presidency, ministries, TÜBİTAK, governorships, the National Police, AFAD (the disaster and emergency management authority) and similar public institutions.

The reason matters: news from official institutions is produced to be announced to the public. A ministry's press release is published for everyone to see and share. The content of a commercial news site, on the other hand, is that site's commercial product, and systematically scraping and republishing it creates copyright and unfair competition risks.

A site working with official sources produces content that is both safe and genuinely valuable: ministry projects, public announcements, security and disaster updates, and science and technology news. If you wish, you can also add your own RSS source from the Advanced (Gelişmiş) section; in that case, you are responsible for the content rights.

It runs on your own AI key

The bot does not lock you into a single service. You can choose Google Gemini, OpenAI (ChatGPT) or Anthropic Claude. Gemini's free tier is more than enough for most sites; by entering multiple free keys, you can multiply your daily quota. The bot rotates keys automatically, rests any key that hits its limit and brings it back the next day.

Your API keys are stored only on your own site. No data other than the news text is sent to third parties.

Setup: an automated news site in 4 steps

1. Download and install the plugin. Download the zip file, then upload and activate it in your WordPress dashboard via Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.
2. Get a free API key. Go to aistudio.google.com/apikey with your Google account and click "Create API key". No credit card required.
3. Enter the key and turn on the types. Paste the key into the Haber Botu > Yapay Zeka (AI) tab; turn on the publication types you want in the Kaynaklar (Sources) tab.
4. Start the bot. Switch on the toggle in the top right. The bot now publishes news on its own at the pace you set.
